Facials
What is a facial?
A facial is a spa service designed to improve and enhance the health and appearance of your skin. It typically involves a thorough cleansing, exfoliation, extraction (if needed), massage, mask application, and moisturization. Facial treatments are customized based on your skin type and concerns, targeting issues such as acne, dryness, aging, or hyperpigmentation.
What are the benefits of getting regular facials?
Regular facials offer numerous benefits for your skin. They help deeply cleanse and detoxify the skin, unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, improve circulation, promote cell turnover, stimulate collagen production, and provide deep hydration. Facials also help nourish, refresh, and rejuvenate the skin, leaving it looking radiant and youthful.
How often should I get a facial?
The frequency of facials depends on your individual skin type, concerns, and lifestyle. On average, getting a facial once every four to six weeks is recommended to maintain optimal skin health. However, your esthetician can assess your skin and recommend a suitable frequency based on its specific needs.
Can I wear makeup before or after a facial?
It is best to arrive for your facial treatment without wearing makeup. This allows the esthetician to properly cleanse and analyze your skin. After the facial, it is generally advisable to give your skin time to breathe and absorb the benefits of the treatment before applying makeup. However, if you need to apply makeup immediately after, opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic products that won't clog your pores.
Are facials suitable for all skin types?
Yes, facials can be customized to suit various skin types, including dry, oily, combination, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. Our estheticians are trained to assess your skin and select the appropriate products and techniques to address your specific concerns and achieve optimal results.
Can I get a facial if I have acne or sensitive skin?
Yes, facials can be beneficial for acne-prone and sensitive skin. However, it is crucial to inform your esthetician about any skin conditions, allergies, or sensitivities you may have. They will tailor the treatment to your needs, using gentle and soothing products that help calm inflammation and promote skin healing.
Can I request specific products or ingredients for my facial?
Absolutely! If you have specific product preferences or ingredient sensitivities, please inform our spa reception when scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to accommodate your requests and select suitable products for your facial treatment.
What should I do to prepare for a facial?
To prepare for your facial, it is helpful to arrive with a clean face, free from makeup and skincare products. Avoid exfoliating or using harsh products on your skin for a few days before your appointment. It's also a good idea to communicate any specific concerns or goals you have for your skin, so the esthetician can address them during the treatment.
I’m pregnant, do you offer a prenatal safe facial?
Yes! We love welcoming prenatal mums. We use a beautiful line of clean skincare that is safe for both moms and babies. Please just be sure to inform your esthetician so they may customize your treatment appropriately.

Spray Tans
How should you prepare for a spray tan appointment?
We recommend exfoliating your skin the day before your appointment, especially the dry areas like elbows, knees, hands, feet, and back of ankles. Schedule waxes or other appointments such as manicures or pedicures before your spray tan as well. On the day of your session, avoid applying moisturizers, oils, or lotions to the skin, as they can create a barrier and interfere with the tanning solution's absorption.
What product is used?
South Seas Skin Care. Named the “Best of the Best” by Allure. Works for all skin types and is not tested on animals.
How long does a spray tan last?
The longevity of a spray tan can vary depending on several factors, including your skin type, preparation, and aftercare. On average, a spray tan can last anywhere from 5 to 10 days. Regular moisturizing and avoiding activities that cause excessive sweating or exfoliation can help prolong the tan.
What should I wear during a spray tan?
You can wear as little or as much as you feel comfortable with during a spray tan session. Many clients choose to wear disposable underwear or swimsuits to minimize tan lines. You may also choose to go fully nude if preferred.
How soon after a spray tan can I shower?
The recommended time to wait before showering after a spray tan is typically 8 to 12 hours. This allows the tanning solution to fully develop and set on the skin. Your spray tan technician will provide you with specific instructions based on the product used and your desired outcome.
Can I swim or exercise after a spray tan?
It is best to avoid swimming or intense exercise that causes excessive sweating for at least 24 hours after a spray tan. This helps ensure the longevity and evenness of the tan. Chlorinated water and excessive sweating can cause the tan to fade or become patchy.
Can I get a spray tan if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! Our spray tan solution is formulated to be gentle on the skin, but it's important to inform your spray tan technician if you have sensitive skin or any known allergies. They can perform a patch test or recommend a solution that suits your skin type to minimize any potential reactions.
Will a spray tan protect me from the sun?
A spray tan does not provide protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. It is important to continue using sunscreen to protect your skin from sunburn and damage. However, a spray tan can give the appearance of a sun-kissed glow without the need for prolonged sun exposure.
How often should I get a spray tan?
vThe frequency of spray tans depends on your personal preference and desired level of tan. Some clients prefer to get a spray tan every 1-2 weeks.

Waxes
What is waxing?
Body waxing is a hair removal method that involves applying warm or hot wax to the skin and then removing it, along with the unwanted hair, from the root. It is an effective way to achieve smooth, hair-free skin on various areas of the body, including legs, arms, underarms, bikini area, and more.
How long does the hair need to be for waxing?
For the best results, it is recommended to have at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch (6-12 mm) of hair length before waxing. This allows the wax to adhere properly to the hair and facilitates effective hair removal. If the hair is too short, it may not be effectively removed, while excessively long hair may cause more discomfort during the waxing process.
How long will the results of waxing last?
The duration of hair-free results can vary from person to person. On average, you can expect smooth skin for about 3 to 6 weeks after waxing. However, individual hair growth patterns, hair thickness, and other factors can influence the length of time between waxing sessions.
Does waxing hurt?
While everyone's pain tolerance varies, some discomfort is commonly associated with waxing. However, our estheticians are skilled in minimizing discomfort and ensuring a gentle waxing experience. They will work efficiently and use techniques to minimize any discomfort during the process. Additionally, the pain usually decreases with regular waxing as the hair becomes finer and weaker over time.
How should I prepare for a body waxing session?
To prepare for your waxing session, it is recommended to exfoliate the area to be waxed a day or two before your appointment. This helps remove dead skin cells and allows for smoother hair removal. Avoid applying moisturizers, oils, or lotions to the skin on the day of your appointment, as they can interfere with the wax's adherence.
Can I wax if I have sensitive skin?
Yes, waxing is generally suitable for sensitive skin. However, it's essential to inform your esthetician about any skin conditions, allergies, or sensitivities you may have. They will use gentle and suitable waxing products for sensitive skin to minimize any potential irritation or redness.
Are there any post-waxing care instructions?
After waxing, it is important to take care of your skin to avoid potential irritation or ingrown hairs. Your esthetician will provide you with specific aftercare instructions, which may include avoiding hot baths or showers, excessive sweating, sun exposure, and applying soothing creams or lotions to the waxed area.
Can I wax during pregnancy?
Yes, waxing during pregnancy is generally safe. However, due to increased sensitivity and hormonal changes, some women may experience heightened discomfort during the process. It's recommended to consult with your healthcare provider and inform your esthetician about your pregnancy before your waxing appointment.
Can I wax if I'm using certain skincare products or medications?
Some skincare products and medications, such as retinoids or acne medications, can make the skin more sensitive or prone to irritation. It's crucial to inform your esthetician about any medications, topical treatments, or skincare products you are using. They will advise you on whether it's safe to proceed with waxing.

What is the Micro Puncture Lab with Biologique Recherche?
The Micro Puncture Lab (MPL) (similar to microneedling) is a procedure that involves using a device with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin's natural healing response, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production, and a rejuvenated appearance.
What are the benefits of MPL?
MPL offers a range of benefits, including:
- Stimulating collagen and elastin production, promoting skin firmness and elasticity.
- Improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
- Enhancing skin texture and tone.
- Reducing hyperpigmentation and age spots.
- Minimizing pore size.
- Boosting the absorption and efficacy of skincare products.

Is MPL Painful?
During the procedure, a topical numbing cream is typically applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. Most clients report feeling a mild sensation, similar to light prickling or tingling, during the treatment.
How many MPL sessions are needed to see results?
The number of sessions required can vary depending on your skin condition and desired results. Most clients benefit from a series of treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Visible improvements can be seen after just one session, but a series of treatments helps achieve more significant and long-lasting results.
Is there any downtime after MPL?
After MPL, you may experience some redness in the treated area but often very minimal. This typically subsides within a day or two. Your skin may also feel slightly sensitive or tight. It's important to follow the post-treatment instructions provided by our esthetician, which may include avoiding sun exposure and using gentle skincare products.
Can I wear makeup after MPL?
It's generally recommended to avoid wearing makeup for the first 24 to 48 hours after MPL to allow the skin to heal and breathe. Once the redness and sensitivity have subsided, you can resume your regular makeup routine.
Are the results of MPL permanent?
MPL results are long-lasting, but they are not considered permanent. As the natural aging process continues, it's important to maintain a proper skincare routine and protect your skin from sun exposure to prolong the results. Periodic touch-up treatments may also be recommended to maintain the desired outcomes.

When using mascara, choose a water-based and non-waterproof formula to avoid clumping or damaging the lifted lashes. After the service, many clients report not needing to wear mascara as their lashes are full and lifted from the treatment.
How should I care for my lashes after a lash lift?
